Band NewsLetter

Saturday 28th The George, Portland

our tour continued this weekend on down to breezy Portland... and thats just our guitarist!! haha... They always enjoy their music at this little pub and is a pleasure to play... definitely worth the trek. As always we look forward to our return in december and are already booked up here for next year.... even gonna try a sunday afternoon gig!... Almost forgot.... the great beer... ask for the local brew they keep hidden at the back of the bar, forgotten what its called tho... cant think why!!! See you on the 9th..

Friday 27th R & B club Lulworth

Our never ending tour of the south coast continues with a re visit to the purbecks and Lulworth.. Crowd warms up late as always but good to see em boppin despite the problems with the beer ( Youngs :( )..

Tuesday 24th The Lord Nelson Poole

Not a gig for us but the delicious Anna`s pub party... a thank you for the many bands who play here during the year... our turn to be serenaded by Anna & the girls and more than a few punters to boot on a karaoke nite. Muso`s almost outnumbered the regulars in the crowd, something you dont see too often haha.... Thanks Anna for the beer and an enjoyable evening and oh ..ermm keep up the lessons.

Friday 13th The Blue Boar, Poole

This date maybe unlucky for some but not Us as our good friend Andy stepped in as frontman for the evening.... As usual he did us proud.

Good `ole blues and bit `o rock always go down well here so who were we to disappoint? Good to see our regulars here too. Hopefully see you back here soon but with brewery budget cuts in the offing... fingers crossed.

Sunday October 1st: The Lord Nelson, Poole

Back in the groove after our beach sojourn, for an unusual ( for us) sunday nite gig at the Nellie..... a good crowd and despite the chill outside things soon hotted up.... Other good news too was the sound meter had been re- adjusted... so no acoustic gig this nite. SAee ya next month folks...

Saturday Sept 23rd: The White Swan; Swanage

The pub on the corner, parking a nightmare … but that`s Swanage for you. Well supported for only our second time here …. again much enjoyment of the music.

Saturday Sept 16th: Poole Canoe Club; Hamworthy Beach.

A gig on the beach and with great summers evening weather we could have been in the Greek Islands. A big thanks to Poole Canoe Club for putting this together and acting as roadies for us, even had synchronised canoing … great to Albatross not so easy to the Sabre Dance!!!

Sea.. sand.. and BBQ made a perfect nite...... yachties bopping on their foredecks in the harbour, residents on their balconies and Us gigging in an Argos marquee!!! Just great...can we do it again next year?

Friday Sept 8th: The Lord Nelson; Poole Quay.

Back to one of our favourites, a good crowd who enjoyed themselves from the off. Anna and the girls dancing` and goin` behind the bar working their li`l ol` butts off, a good mix of rock, some blues and some new stuff, courtesy of the boys soon had the place rockin` … when`s the next one????????

Saturday Sept 2nd: The George; Portland.

The Never Ending Tour of the South Coast still continues this time with a visit to Portland. Busy little pub this, always has been. The locals really appreciate live music … long may it continue!

Friday Sept 1st: The R`n `B Club; Lulworth.

The Never Ending Tour of the South Coast continues with a visit to Lulworth Cove. Later start at this venue and as usual when it`s time to stop playing … everyone wants to carry on! A good venue none the less with more to come we hope!!!

Thursday August 31st Nelsons Ale House, Blandford

Usual stonking nite here for us .. despite fierce competition down the road from The Wurzels at The Steam Up! ..............Good Ringwood Ales , great music and drunken squaddies made for a good evening..

Friday August 25th The Crown , Marnhull

Long haul into deepest darkest dorset this venue is.... and not quite so busy as usual.... must be something to do with the Steam Festival on down the road perhaps and also "The Yeovil Contingent" were conspicous by they`re absence.... not good enough boys! But still a good nite and things settling down as Don our new vocalist becoming more familiar (Ooh er! ) with arrangements.

Tuesday August 15th The Inn On the Furlong, Ringwood.

A nite off then back in harness and Ringwood ale!!! Aways a joy to play at in the summer this Pub... as the fire is not lit!!! So toasted musician bits were not on the menu! Usual good time had by all................ see ya soon guys.

Sunday August 13th The Lord Nelson, Poole Quay

Third gig on the trot this weekend and again at another of our favourite venues..... Pub was empty when we arrived.. not usually a good sign.... afternoon band packed up and gone too... Hmmmnn.... But we need`nt have worried pub soon filled up and a jolly time was had by all Except....... for that bloody sound meter kicking in!!!... Anna swore blind it hadnt been tampered errmm... I mean adjusted ......Seemed an acoustic set almost was the order of the evening? But despite these problems all went well....

Saturday August 12th The Ropemakers, Bridport

Back to one of our favourite venues even tho its a long haul.... usual supportive crowd made this a great nite.... Gary and Brenda " mine Hosts" in fine form and without any impromptu shower baths this time...!!?? See ya back in November folks

Friday August 11th; The Royal Oak Downton, Lymington

New venue to Live music this place altho predominantly an "eatery".... punters were still noshing their meals when we started so play quietly was in order at first.... But people soon warmed to the music and stayed after eating. Free drink with the Landlord and his good Lady rounded off an enjoyable evening.

Saturday July 22nd: Music Festival; Bovington.

Well done to SSGT Pat Burgess for having the bottle to put this gig on … what a great evening it turned out to be and a big thanks also to Gav the sound man for all his hard work throughout the evening. A 3 band header with Cable Co. from Glastonbury and Chemical Alley from Yeovil supplying a good cross section of music along with ourselves. Hog roast, 2 beer tents and various other goings on provided entertainment from 8.00pm until 3.00 a.m. the following morning, although I expect some were still drinking when the sun rose on Sunday morning. This is something that should now become a yearly event … great fireworks too, from the guys down from Bury Lancashire!!!
