Band Biography

Stone cold sober as a band, came about from a conversation between Robbie and myself ( Nick) one cold day in February 1999. We were talking about  bands we had played in , and before long moved on to talking of forming one together. Robbie, knew  of Nigel ( vocalist) they had been in a band together before, agreed to contact him  and we put  ads in the local rags for guitarists and a keyboard player. Nigel agreed to join, we interviewed a guitarist or two and before long were rehearsing together at a local football club. After a change of guitarists, we decided to advertise again, and Stevie joined as lead guitarist . After dabbling  unsuccessfully with a keyboard player, Malcolm joined as rhythm guitarist.

August ’99 saw our first  gig and Stone Cold Sober the Blues Band was on the road!

Later in 2000 we bought some studio time and cut a demo cd – “ Re-covered”.  2001 saw both Malcolm and Nigel leave . A month of hectic rehearsals, and we were away again.

April 2003 saw Robbie ( drummer) leave and enter Terry at short notice. This meant more hectic rehearsals, as we had been invited to support  The Yardbirds  at Mr Kyps in May.

July 2005 our vocalist was sacked and Rob joined as lead singer .

June 2006 Rob left and new lead singer Don joined.

December 2007 lead vocalist Anthony joined as new frontman

This is the lineup you see today:

Stevie (Axeman)   Anthony ( Lead Vocals)

Terry (drums)                and Nick on bass guitar.
